What Gen Z and Millennials Think About Work Part 1
Friday Aug 04, 2023
Friday Aug 04, 2023
Welcome back! In our previous episode, we delved into the fascinating relationship between stress and engagement levels across different countries. Today, we have an exciting topic to explore as we dive into the eye-opening revelations from the highly anticipated Deloitte Gen Z and Millennial Survey Report of 2023. Imagine this: 22,000 Gen Z and Millennials from 44 countries participated in this groundbreaking survey conducted between December 2022 and March 2023. The insights gathered during this period were profoundly influenced by the evolving tapestry of societal changes, especially prompted by the pandemic. The world we live in today is unlike anything we've experienced before. The pandemic has acted as a catalyst for people to reevaluate the true essence of work in their lives and seek a balance that nurtures their well-being. This newfound perspective has sparked what many now refer to as the "Great Resignation" or the "Great Quit" movement. Workers are taking a stand, demanding changes such as higher pay and greater action and accountability in areas like Diversity Equity and Inclusion and climate change. Additionally, the rise of remote and hybrid work options has offered unparalleled workplace flexibility across multiple industries. As we explore the survey results, we will uncover the profound implications of these developments on the aspirations, fears, and dreams of our focus generation. We'll also shine a light on the coping mechanisms employed by individuals to navigate these turbulent times successfully. As always, we value your feedback and suggestions, so be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments section below. Let's build a vibrant community of like-minded individuals who are committed to driving positive change in the lives of Gen Z and Millennials.

Got Stress: Global Report 2023
Friday Jul 28, 2023
Friday Jul 28, 2023
In the previous episode, we discussed my viewpoint on the global workplace report for 2023, focusing on employee engagement. In this upcoming episode, we will explore the relationship between stress and countries with high engagement levels, as well as discuss strategies for alleviating stressors. Within the North American region, a significant portion of individuals, accounting for 52%, reported experiencing stress for the majority of their day. Remarkably, both managers (56%) and individual contributors (51%) expressed that work contributes to their stress levels. Notably, the interesting aspect of this finding is that it remains consistent regardless of whether individuals work exclusively remotely, in a hybrid model, or on-site.

Be a Leader Worth Trusting
Friday Jun 16, 2023
Friday Jun 16, 2023
In this episode, we are going to be talking about trends of trust when it comes to leadership and management in the U.S. workforce. This is based on the perceptions of workers have of their leadership and management. According to Gallup, Employee Perceptions of Leadership Matter when it comes to trust, compassion, stability and hope - these are the four most important traits that followers, including employees, need leaders to exhibit. When leaders fulfill the needs of employees in the workplace, it increases their sense of involvement, resulting in increased employee engagement and improved job performance along with business outcomes. For example, employees who strongly agree they trust the leadership of their organization are four times as likely to be engaged.

Senior Leader Priorities
Friday May 19, 2023
Friday May 19, 2023
In the last episode, we talked about productivity. In this episode, we are going to talk about how to live in the now and focus on the future. I remember a mentor of mine once told me, “live in the now but ensure you are always planning for the future.” I took that as having to divide my time planning and looking at the future more to shape conditions, resource critical friction points, and develop branch and sequel plans in case things didn’t go as planned. In this episode we examine the top priorities of CEOs and Senior Leaders.

Emails and Distractions
Friday May 05, 2023
Friday May 05, 2023
In the last episode, we talked about a trend that is still prominent in this year and is growing, which is employee well-being! If you haven’t heard that one, I would recommend that one. In this episode, we are going to take another approach and that is about productivity. Specifically, about email management. Before you scoff and change and you turn this off - just hear me out. I was reading a quick blog on the Mckinsey and Company page and there was a quick article that talked about - Taking control of your inbox—and your productivity. Now, in a world where time is of the essence, emails are the primary way of passing on information—possibly to excess. In reality, most executives report that they are regularly dragged down by conversations that are unnecessary and bring about information overload, draining their energy.
